Soweit meine schnelle Meinung. Barbara

Hi Kinuthia,
sorry that I didn't pick up the phone yesterday, but the team didn't meet yesterday, as initially planed, so there were no ne information to share.
Let me answer some of your questions:
the costs on flight, accomodation and food will be all on us. What we mean with low budget, is not to expect to much luxery ;)
The programme so far is mostly concentrated on political activism of the radical left in germany. But as soon the the team is complete and the visa stuff is on its way we'll send you a detailed programme, so that we also can include events and meetings that are of interest for you.
We would be very interested to hear about the following things from you:
- political activism and development of civil society in kenya
- means of protest and resistance
- student movement
- independent media
- ...
of course we don't expect you to have a ready presentation on all topics ;) We can talk about this more later.
But most important of all: have you heard from Wangui recently? Could you contact her as well. We really really need the names and dates of the participants, otherwise we won't get the visas in time.
Have you allready applied for your passport? You should do that imidiatly and maybe also inquire how long it might take, and if it ist possible to get a provisional one.
So long, hope to hear from you soon, Sara

what exactly do u expect wen u say workshops n presentations from the Kenyan activists? We would also like to get some exposure about Germans' social, religious and cultural orientations. About sharing one room, relax we are comfortable. Wil we meet the low cost of food or is it on u? Dont trouble yourselves on pocket money,we wil be fine because we want to to learn more instead. Who wil meet the cost of flight? We would also like to share the political system n the growth of democracy in Kenya as well as the religious, cultural and social background in Kenya.
I hope i have communicated as required n that u wil get more than u need from this e mail.Cheers Sara and team Sent from my LG Mobile

Dear Kinuthia,
was great to finally get in touch with you. Here is the promised Mail. First we'd like to present you the content of the project and then we wish to discuss our divergent expectations towards the organisational frame
content: objective: exchange of activists from kenya and germany.
-introduction to the political situation and institutions in germany, parlamentary and civil society
-meeting with diverse forms of political activism, e.g. indepent media student movement violence and judical repression against activsts and resistance to that anti-nuclear-energy movement protest against coal mining
-workshops on different forms of skills for political actions, e.g. communication and consenus various forms of demonstrations blockades (sitting blockades, material blockades...) affinity groups basic first aid for demonstrations
-workshops and presentations from the kenyan activists
Do you have any questions on that? Is there any more content you are interested in or any more workshops that you would like to attend?
organisational frame: we've been meeting some difficulties in getting the funds that are sufficiant for such a project. But never the less we are very motivated and we think it is very important to have such an exchange so we came up with the idea to lower our expectians and have a low budget plan. In detail this means the following things: the team will sleep in one room, but with space enough for everyone. We will try to keep the costs for food as low as possible and our main base will be Berlin with vistit in one or two other places, so there will be no tour. Probably we won't be able to provide you with pocket money. Might there be any problems occuring from this situation?
Please write a few lines on you're general expectations towards the project. In addition to that we would like to know roughly what kind of topics you coul give presentations or what kind of experiences from Kenya would you like to share with us.
By the way, it will be an interesting time for you to come, because in September there is the general election in germany.
Cheers, Barbara, Hanna, Johanna, Kathy, Jannik and Sara
